How to Gain The Horse Jumping Skill in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch

There are four new skills that you can earn with your horses in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch and the jumping skill is one of my favourites. This skill lets you practice on jumps, join jumping competitions and make your horses seriously impressive.

How to Gain The Jumping Skill

Horses are so cool and being able to do horse jumps is gorgeous! To gain this skill your sim can either purchase their own jumps for their yard or go head over to the Equestrian Centre to use theirs that are located behind the building. You can practice on these horse jumps and eventually do advanced jumps or send your horse to horse training at the Equestrian Centre.

The jumping skill is important for both the endurance racing and show jumping competitions that your horses can compete in.

Levels of The Jumping Skill

• Level One: Allows your sims to mount a horse and practice jumps
• Level Two: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and unlocks the talk about jumping interaction
• Level Three: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and unlocks the ask about jumping training interaction
• Level Four: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and loses less energy when practicing
• Level Five: Unlocks the ability to practice advanced jumps which help you to gain the jumping skill faster but horses will get more tired, unlocks the compliment jumps interaction
• Level Six: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and unlocks the ask about favourite jumps interaction
• Level Seven: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and unlocks the ask about jumping mechanics interaction
• Level Eight: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and can now train alone without a sim
• Level Nine: Horse gets slightly better at jumps and becomes less tired when riding
• Level Ten: Horse gets the best they can at horse jumps and unlocks the jumping iron works signage reward object

How to Gain This Skill Faster With Traits

There are certain traits for horses that you can use to get your horse to gain skills more quickly so you don’t have to grind out these skills for as long as normal. The traits that you’ll want for gaining this skill more quickly are:

• Brave: A horse with the brave trait has a higher chance of success when using horse jumps
• Energetic: A horse with the energetic trait can gain athletic skills faster because they have so much energy to use
• Intelligent: These horses gain all skills more quickly which is so helpful

If a horse is born from a horse who has the champion horse reward trait they are going to have champion genes which means they’ll get every skill more quickly.

How to Cheat The Jumping Skill

Thankfully with every skill there are cheats that you can play with so you don’t have to do all the work if you don’t feel like it. These cheats are a bit more complicated than sim cheats because you can’t control your horses. You’ll first need to find your horses sim ID which is an easy task but adds a little bit to this process.

To cheat the jumping skill you’ll use the following cheat but change the X for whatever level of the skill you’d like your sims to have and then replace [Sim ID] with the number that the game gives you when you use the find sim ID cheat:
