How to Make Money in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch
I like to struggle when I play The Sims because it makes it so much more interesting for me. This means my sims start poor and I don’t love to use money cheats too much. This means I always need to find ways to make money from each pack that I get as they’re released! I found 3 really great ways you can earn an income from The Sims 4: Horse Ranch that I’m loving so much.
Selling Nectar You Made
The first way you can earn money with this pack is through selling nectar that your sim has made. This is super easy but will require time. To start you’ll probably want to start a little garden, the better quality the inputs in your nectar the more it will sell for. Plant some apple trees, some grapes and some strawberries and you’ll be able to make lots of nectar.
Then you need to purchase the Rootin’ Fruit’n Nectar Maker from the buy catalog and add it to your sims house. This is where all nectar is made, click on the machine and create nectar with whatever inputs you have, or purchase inputs instead.

You’ll want to also age your nectar so its worth more money. This takes a while so be prepared to wait a lot. Nectar ages faster when placed in basements as well as when its placed inside the Rancher’s Stackable Nectar Storage Rack so do both so it doesn’t take as long!
You can sell your sim’s nectar through your inventory or sell it to the Mysterious Rancher. You can find him on random days but the game will give you a notification when he’s in town, when you see this you can right click on his picture from the notification and it will focus the camera on him and you can sell him your nectar.

Pro Tip: Have your sims work through the Expert Nectar Maker Aspiration as you try and earn income from this! Part of the aspiration is just to earn money from it so you can work on it easily.
Breeding and Selling Horses
The next way you can make an income with this pack is through breeding and selling horses. To breed horses you’ll need to have a stallion and a mare, you can see what kind of horse you have in their info panel or by hovering over in the menu when purchasing or rescuing a horse.
You can have a household with 5 mares and one stallion and your sim and you’ll be able to breed repeatedly with that stallion as long as their are well cared for. However, you can only get as many horses pregnant as you have spaces in your sim’s household.

To breed you’ll want to encourage one horse to breed with the other. When you do this they’ll get close together, some heart animations will happen and then there’s a chance they will be pregnant, which you’ll learn in just a few hours. In my experience a horse pregnancy lasts about 36 in-game hours.
Now it’s time to sell your horses, you can do this by clicking on the horse and under actions you’ll see the option. The way this works is horses have a default amount of money they’re worth (1000 for regular horses, 250 for elders) and that number can go up depending on their skills.

This means you have to choose if you want to sell the horse immediately after birth, or spend some time caring for it and gaining skills to sell it for more. Considering the time commitment, it isn’t really worth the time to spend giving them more skills just for a few hundred more simoleons.
Selling Horse Poo… Yes, That’s Possible
Your horses are going to be pooping all over the place and if you don’t clean it up it’ll just stay there and be gross and smelly. You have a couple options with their manure, you can clean it up or add it to your sim’s inventory.
When it’s in your sims inventory you can actually sell it through the inventory system for simoleons that add up pretty quick, especially if you have lots of horses. Weird way to earn money, but hey you need to pay for hay somehow!
Hopefully you’re fully ready to go out and make as much money as you can with this pack, it’s really fun to play with different parts of the game to earn an income!
