The Sims 4: Promotion Cheats (Career Promote & Demote)
The worst thing you can do in The Sims 4 is spend the entire time you’re playing just grinding away and trying to get promotions on your own. It can take so long to get your sim’s to the next level and gaining the skills can be such a big pain.
Thankfully, a ton of career cheats exist in the game and these allow you to give your sims promotions or go ahead and demote them as well if you no longer want them to be as high in their career! You’re going to have so much more fun playing the game instead of working to get promotions constantly.
How to Enable Cheats
With the game mechanics in The Sims 4 you need to first enable your cheats before you can start using any of these cheats if you want them to work properly. To make this happen you need to first open up the cheat box which can be done on any device but the buttons are a bit different depending:

- Mac: Command + Shift + C

Demotion Cheats
The Sims doesn’t have to be all sunshine and rainbows! In addition to having promotion cheats there are always demotion cheats that you can use if you feel like your sim doesn’t deserve to be as far along in their career as they may be.
These cheats work the same way, make sure that you’re controlling the sim you’d like to demote, enable cheats, and go ahead and either type these cheats into the box or just go ahead and copy and paste them from below.
Each cheat in this list starts with the beginning careers.demote and then the name of the career, or some of them have something like careers_adult and then the name.
It is important to note that some of the cheats have different names than the career, like the politician career from The Sims 4: City Living isn’t called politician in the cheat, it is activist so beware of these when trying to remember them.
