How to Get a Satellite Dish in The Sims 4
The only way for your sim to get a satellite dish without cheating is by entering into the scientist career from The Sims 4: Get to Work. This is an active career, so it can be extremely time consuming to get your sim to level 4, and have their 7th breakthrough to be able to unlock it.
You’ll need to get 3 common metals as well as 3 common crystals for you to be able to create a satellite dish on the invention constructor.
How to Get a Satellite Dish With Cheats
You can also obtain a satellite dish by using the buy debug cheat which is the easier way to get it, but not as rewarding. To use this cheat you need to open up the cheat box by hitting ctrl + shift + c and typing in testingcheats true to make sure that cheats are enabled.
Then you’ll type bb.showhiddenobjects into the cheat bar and this should unlock a lot of hidden objects in the game. You can search satellite using the search bar in buy mode and it should appear.
Satellite Dish Abilities
When you have a satellite dish on your lot you’re going to unlock a new television channel that is focused on aliens, which will give your sims something new and interesting to watch. Not the most exciting ability, but still a cool feature.
You can also use the satellite dish to detect aliens and see how many aliens are around. You can also use the satellite dish to totally prevent your sims from being abducted for 24 hours. However, you can also use it to talk to aliens which can make it more likely that your sim will be abducted.
Satellite Dish Hiveminds
One of the most fun parts of the satellite dish from The Sims 4: Get to Work is that you can use it to start a hivemind, making every sim in their neighbourhood do a certain thing. There are 5 available hiveminds that you can choose from:

| Knockout | Everyone in the neighbourhood will fall over and fall asleep and will get a +10,000 sleep moodlet that says “Knocked Out” |
| Bladder Epidemic | Will lower everyone in the neighbourhood’s bladder so they will all search for a bathroom at once |
| Dance Party | Will cause the entire neighbourhood to start dancing |
| Angry Town | Will give the entire neighbourhood a +3 angry moodlet |
| Happy Town | Will give the entire neighbourhood a +2 happy moodlet |
Final Thoughts
