The ice cream maker was added to the game with The Sims 4: Cool Kitchen Stuff and adds a new sweet treat for your sims to enjoy. The ice cream can have some interesting effects on your sims and is great on a warm day!
How to Use the Ice Cream Maker
To make ice cream you want to click on the ice cream maker and choose a flavour. It will make an 8 serving batch of ice cream and can have a different quality based on your sim’s cooking skill.
Your sims are able to choose from 30 flavours of ice cream, 8 toppings, and 10 garnishes allowing for hundreds of different creations for them to enjoy.
You can click on the ice cream maker and choose to grab a bowl, grab a cone, put in inventory or throw away.
Types of Ice Cream
There are 30 different flavours of ice cream for your sims to enjoy, and 8 of those can change something about your sims mood, or something more specific.

Effect Flavors

| Weight of the World | This can be made at Level 3 of the Cooking Skill and will cost §21. | This ice cream flavour will increase how quickly your sims will gain weight. Sims will visibly get fatter if they eat more than two servings of this specific ice cream. |
| Taste of Diet | This can be made at Level 4 of the cooking skill and will cost §27. | This flavour of ice cream is going to increase your sim speed at which they will lose weight and your sim will start slimming down quickly if they eat more than two servings. |
| Twin Roses | This can be made at level 5 of the cooking skill and will cost §33. | This flavour of ice cream will give your sim a flirty moodlet +1 for four hours. |
| Haunted Mint | This can be made at level 6 of the cooking skill and will cost §38. | This flavour of ice cream will give your sim a few different outcomes and has a chance of a ghost coming to visit them. They may get a hauntingly inspired moodlet where they will get a +1 for four hours, or get a hauntingly saddened moodlet where they will be +1 sad for four hours. |
| Mental Upheaval | This can be made at level 7 of the cooking skill and will cost §42. | This flavour will give your sim a random emotional moodlet called Mind Askew that will last for one hour. |
| Plant Matter | This can be made at level 8 of the cooking skill and will cost §47. | This ice cream is going to turn your sim into a plant sim for a few hours. |
| Dragon’s Breath | This can be made at level 9 of the cooking skill and will cost §51. | This ice cream flavour is going to give your sim either an uncomfortable or confident moodlet and can cause the sim to burp fire, and has a chance to set them on fire. |
| Chilling Mocha | This can be made at level 10 of the cooking skill and will cost §56. | This flavour has a few effects that are possible where they can either get a +1 happy moodlet where nothing happens, or they will get a chilled to the bone moodlet where they will be +1 uncomfortable for 4 hours and they will shiver. |
Types of Toppings
There are 8 different toppings for your sims to add to their ice cream if you want to make it more fun, or have sims with specific items that they love on their ice cream. These include the following:

- Whipped Cream
- Sprinkles

- Coconut Shavings
- Raspberry Sauce
- Chocolate Sauce
- Cherries
Types of Garnish
In addition to the different types of toppings your sims can choose, they can also put different kinds of garnish on their ice cream. There are 10 types of garnish for you to choose from that include:
- Strawberries
- Mint Leaves
- Flowers
- Waffle Pieces
- Nut Bar
- Banana Slices
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Sprinkle Sticks
- Peppermint Sticks
- Orange Slices
Final Thoughts
Although this gameplay object is not entirely life changing it definitely has some nice replay value and can be great for a hot summers day in the game where your sims can hangout by the pool and eat some ice cream.
