The Sims 4: Trait Cheats
Since The Sims 4 only allows our sims to be equipped with 3 traits when they are created, sometimes we’d like to add some new ones and the only way to do that is through cheats or earning some reward traits, cheating is always easier!
This guide is going to go through the entire list of trait cheats that you can use to equip your sim’s with all sorts of new traits and make them a more well-rounded and interesting sim.
How to Use Cheats
If you want to use any of these cheats, you need to make sure that cheats are enabled before doing anything! First you need to open up the cheat box by hitting ctrl + shift + c and then typing in testingcheats true which will allow cheats to work. Then you can just type in any of the trait cheats listed below, and they should work.
Regular Trait Cheats
The following are the cheats to add some new regular traits into your sim’s personality. These are the types of traits that you would be able to give your sim when you make them in create a sim, or when they are aging up.

Children’s Reward Trait Cheats
The following traits are only given to children, but do last their entire life. The gifted traits are rewarded when a child aged sim completes an aspiration. The scouting trait is rewarded when a sim completes all of the scouting tasks as either a child or a teenager.

Hi there, I’ve never been able to add additional traits from CAS (ex. Romantic, Bookworm, Foodie, etc). I used testingcheats true, and I’m still unsuccessful using your list. Is there anything I’m missing? I dont see them adding to the panel.
I can only add Aspiration Reward Traits, Reward Store traits and Career traits.

I tried this earlier today, and I had to remove unwanted traits first before I could add anything. The cheat won’t let you go past the max allowed.
Here is an example of what I did:
1st remove: traits.remove_trait loner
Then add: traits.equip_trait hateschildren
the sickness resistance cheat doesn’t work. i have the dlc and it doesnt work
it’s “trait_Doctor_SicknessResistant” now
I cant seem to use this cheat, even with the simplist traits. Help! I’m in living mode and also have testingcheats enabled
traits.equip_trait musiclover does not work because the d**n earbuds they added to the game also uses “musiclover” as a trait or something. I hated being forced the earbuds before, I still hate them now.

Hi! So I’m using the Slice Of Life mod and I’m trying to get the introvert trait in it but it says it’s part of a script mod; do you know how I could activate it? I’ve looked it up and everything and google isn’t helpful
Player trait adds wonderfully, thanks very much for the thorough and accurate guide! Been helping my Sims overcome their violent jealousies by giving them all the Player trait with this cheat for years, lol.
Could you include Hidden Traits in the list too? Like right-handed/left-handed, likes/dislikes fruitcake, etc. Maybe ghost death traits as well (e.g. traits.equip_trait trait_ghost_fire)?
