The Sims 4: Secret Agent Career
The secret agent career in The Sims 4 is an interesting one, its a ton of secrecy as any secret agent career should be. The most interesting part? The Villain branch of the career is the only career in game that has 11 levels, instead of 10.
I’d say that the secret agent career is an awesome base game career, and has some pretty funky unlocks for you to create the perfect home office for your secret agent. Let’s dig into everything you need to know about the secret agent career in The Sims 4.
Aspirations for The Secret Agent Career
Every career in The Sims 4 has at least one aspiration that seems to make sense and will help you to gain satisfaction points while you work your way through the career.
Serial Romantic
If you’re planning to go down the Diamond Agent Branch of the secret agent career, the serial romantic aspiration may be a good choice. In the diamond branch you need to be performing romantic interactions daily, so it might be fun to make your sim kinda like James Bond and have tons of different partners.
Chief of Mischief
If you’re planning to go down the Villain Branch of the secret agent career, you may want to go with the chief of mischief aspiration. This aspiration will be helpful because in the branch you need to perform mischief interactions daily!
Traits for The Secret Agent Career
Choosing traits that are going to help your sim in their career is always a good option, the following four traits are going to help your sim get through the secret agent career.
Genius
Since the career has aspects of the logic skill it may be smart to give your sim the genius trait. This trait will make them randomly focused and you can gain the logic skill quicker when your sim is feeling focused.
Outgoing
The secret agent career also has a lot of focus on the charisma skill throughout, so outgoing is another great option. The outgoing trait makes your sims enjoy speaking to others more, as well as makes their friendly interactions go more smoothly so there’s less chance of embarrassment.
Mean
If you’re planning to go down the villain branch of the secret agent career then you should definitely use the mean trait for your sim. Sims who are mean enjoy using mischief interactions way more and will gain the skill without feeling bad for being mean to others.
Romantic
The diamond agent branch of the secret agent career has a focus on romantic interactions, so you may want to make sure that your sim is romantic so they are better at these types of interactions and have less of a chance of failure.
Lot Traits For The Secret Agent Career
Using lot traits in the game is a really awesome way to get your sims to gain skills quicker or have different abilities within their home lot.
Romantic Aura
If you’re working on the romantic interactions from the diamond branch of the career, you may want to use the romantic aura since it will make the other sim feel romantic without a lot of effort on your part, making it easier.
Convivial
The secret agent career has a big focus on the charisma skill, and the villain branch has a big focus on the mischief skill. Well, thankfully the convivial trait makes it so your sim will get a boost to these two skills and building them!
Science Lair
Finally, the science lair trait is a good one because it will give your sim a boost to building their logic skill which will be really helpful.
Secret Agent Career Levels
“Live life unnoticed as a covert operative. From infiltrating enemy headquarters to the art of interrogation, the more you learn, the less you’ll be known.”
The first 7 levels of the secret agent career have a focus on the logic and charisma skills. To gain the logic skill, you can either play chess or spend time using the giant telescope. To gain the charisma skill, your sim can either spend time talking to other sims or practice their speech in a mirror.
In the first part of this career, your sim will either need to browse intelligence or perform friendly interactions. To browse intelligence, your sim can go onto their computer and click web and then browse intelligence database. This will take a few sim hours and can be a serious pain, but it is important for your sim’s work performance.

Secret Agent Unlocks (Before Branch)
The secret agent career in The Sims 4 has possibly one of my favourite unlocks, a hidden bookcase door! You can literally hide all of your secret agent secrets behind a door that doesn’t look like a door. Definitely worth joining this career for.
You also get a few other cool things as well! You’ll get a new desk chair, The Swiveler, that matches perfect with the Reconnaissance Workstation which together make the perfect secret agent office furniture. And, you’ll unlock a new desk lamp!
Finally, you get a cool tactical map that has a bunch of red lines connecting different points. It definitely makes any home office feel like a secret agent’s office.
Diamond Agent Branch
“You’ve risen through the ranks and have unparalled [sic] clearance. As a Diamond Agent, every mission is critical- -and no misstep forgiven.”
The diamond agent of the secret agent career has a heavier focus on the charisma and logic skills. This is the easier of the two branches, as no new skills are introduced for your sim to master.
Your new daily task is to participate in romantic interactions. This means you are going to need to either have one live in partner or a few that you can invite over and flirt with, that’s why this works well with the serial romantic aspiration.
One great thing about this career branch is that you only work 3 or 4 days a week, meaning you have more time to focus on hobbies or starting a family!

Diamond Agent Branch Unlocks
Since there are only three levels of the diamond agent branch, there aren’t a ton of unlocks. You unlock a spy satellite that goes on your wall, a cute piece of home decor to make any room kinda spooky and cool. You’ll also unlock the Information Database computer, a middle of the road computer, not the best, but not the worst!
Villain Branch
“Your superior intelligence and training are too great to waste on doing good. So why not be the best among the world’s worst?”
Out of the two secret agent branches, you’re going to be making a lot more money by being a villain, and you even have the chance to get promoted to an 11th level of the career.
The biggest issue with this side of the career is that the focus on the charisma skill has been replaced with the mischief skill, which I’ve always found is a harder skill to gain. You can gain it by reading books on mischief, trolling the forums on the computer, or by doing mischief interactions.

Villain Branch Unlocks
As you progress through the secret agent career in the villain branch, you’ll get to unlock certain items that are pretty cool. The first item you get is a different swiveler chair that is bright red and more evil looking than the one you unlocked in the first part of the career.
The next, is a small glass box that has a freeze ray inside, not a functioning freeze ray, just a cute mini one. You’ll also unlock a giant statue called Our Founder which is an interesting piece of home or garden decor.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for some cool furniture and a fun job to participate in, the secret agent career is a really fun option for your sims. You’ll be able to feel like a cool guy and like James Bond every single day hehe. How do you guys feel about the secret agent career? Let me know in the comments!
