The Sims 4: Vampire Lore Skill
With the addition of The Sims 4: Vampires we got a brand new skill called Vampire Lore. This skill will teach sims about vampires, or teach vampires about themselves. This is how you can learn about things vampires can eat, how to make your own plasma packs, and so much more.
The vampire lore skill is a unique one as it has 15 levels which differs from other skills with their regular 10. However, this skill is extremely easy to gain and the skill can improve really fast.
Gaining this skill is actually a great way to gain more Vampire XP and be able to purchase more vampire perks so you can become a stronger vampire. As you keep gaining skills in the vampire lore skill you’ll get bonus tips and tricks in your notification panel so you can learn tons.
How to Gain The Vampire Lore Skill
Learning everything about vampire lore is going to be an expensive endeavor since the only way to get past level two is to purchase §1,500 worth of vampire encyclopedia books, so be prepared to spend.
The first thing you want to do is to research information on vampires on the computer. You’ll find this under the vampire secrets menu and this will get you to level two where you’ll learn that you can purchase these books.
You’ll be able to find these books under the vampire secrets menu on the computer as well. There are 4 versions of this book that will each get you through a few levels of the skill.
You’ll just need to read these books to gain this skill, but thankfully growing your vampire lore will also give you vampire experience.
Vampire Lore Skill Levels
There are 15 levels of the vampire lore skill and they are gained through reading the encyclopedia vampirica and each level will unlock new information and abilities for your vampire.
Vampire Lore Level 1
The first level of the skill lets your sims learn about vampires on the computer.
Vampire Lore Level 2
When you reach level 2 your sim unlocks the ability to purchase the encyclopedia vampirica I that will help you get to level 6 of the skill.
Vampire Lore Level 3
At level 3 of the vampire lore skill your sim now unlocks the ability to purchase plasma packs on the computer. This can be found under vampire secrets. These are a consumable that your sims can eat to fill their vampire thirst.
Vampire Lore Level 4
Level 4 of this skill teaches your sims how to make plasma packs out of fish or frogs. This is great in the beginning because your vampire sims are going to need to keep their vampire thirst up. You’ll be able to go searching for fish or frogs at night when your vampire can leave the house safely and turn them into plasma packs.
Vampire Lore Level 5
When you reach level 5 of the vampire lore skill your sims are going to learn how to craft things with garlic. They can make garlic braids, wreaths, and garlic garlands. These are going to help you as a regular sim because these things will keep vampires away.
Vampire Lore Level 6
Being at level 6 of this skill your sims are going to unlock the ability to buy the encyclopedia vampirica volume II which will get you to level 10.
Vampire Lore Level 7
At level 7 of the vampire lore skill your sim will unlock the ability to share vampire knowledge with others.
Vampire Lore Level 8
When you reach level 8 of the skill you will now be able to order seeds on the computer for plasma fruit, sixam mosquito traps, and wolfsbane. Having a plasma fruit tree is pretty necessary for any vampire so they can have a stockpile of things to keep their vampire thirst full.
Vampire Lore Level 9
At level 9 of the skill your sim will learn a few new recipes. The first is the plasma fruit salad and the second is a new drink, the plasma jane. These are going to fill up your sim’s vampire thirst instead of just eating plasma packs.
Vampire Lore Level 10
When you reach level 10 your sims are now going to be able to purchase the encyclopedia vampirica volume III which will help you get to level 13 of the skill.
Vampire Lore Level 11
At level 11 of the skill your sims are going to learn how to create the sunlight reversal cocktail which is the best reward. A regular vampire can’t go outside in the sun without dying, and this will allow them to. You’ll need garlic and plasma fruit to create this drink but it’s totally worth it.
Vampire Lore Level 12
When at level 12 of the vampire lore skill your sim will learn how to create the vampire resistance cocktail. This can be consumed by any sim and will make it less likely that they are going to be affected by the negative vampire interactions like sucking blood.
Vampire Lore Level 13
The 13th level of the skill lets your sim purchase the ultimate vampire tome for §1,000. This will let you get to level 15 and max out the skill.
Vampire Lore Level 14
When your sim reaches level 14 of the skill they are going to learn how to craft the draught of reconfiguration. This is a beverage that can be crafted with garlic, wolfsbane, and plasma fruit and will allow you to choose completely new powers for your vampire. It will reset them but let you keep all of your vampire perk points.
Vampire Lore Level 15
At the final level of the vampire lore skill you’re actually going to learn how to create a vampire cure. This is a drink that your sims can create on a bar if they have a high enough mixology skill that will turn them back into a regular sim and make them no longer be a vampire. Your sims are going to need some things to craft this which are: 10 plasma fruit, 10 wolfsbane and 10 garlic. You can learn more about ending your vampirism in this video:
How to Cheat the Vampire Lore Skill
Sometimes we just wanna cheat a skill instead of actually working toward it, there is no shame in that game. You can definitely cheat this skill but first make sure cheats are enabled. You can do this by hitting ctrl + shift + c on your keyboard and typing in testingcheats true and hitting enter. This enables all cheats to work. Then you’ll want to type in stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_hidden_vampirelore 15 and that cheat will max out the skill. If you just want a few levels you can change the 15 to whatever level of the skill you wish to have.
