The Sims 4: City Native Aspiration
One of my favourite packs in The Sims 4 is City Living because apartment living is one of my favourite ways to play the game. This pack brought with it a ton of interesting things like festivals, bubble blowers, protestors and so much more.
The City Native aspiration is a really fun one that will bring you through different parts of The Sims 4: City Living pack and can help show you some of the fun things in the game.
Traits that Might Help
Most aspirations in The Sims 4 have a few traits that can really help you finish aspirations rather quickly and will help you gain skills and things while working on it. Since this aspiration is a little all over the place, there really isn’t a specific aspiration that will help a ton, so choose whatever you want!
Reward Trait for the City Native Aspiration
The reward trait for this aspiration is a bit lacklustre and isn’t one of my favorites, you’ll be given the in the know reward trait. This is going to let you get items from street vendors for a lower price when you haggle, not really worth it to be honest, haha.
Stages of the Aspiration
Level One: Tourist
- Introduce Yourself to Someone New in 3 Different Neighbourhoods
- Give an Apartment Key to a Friend
- Order 3 Times from Food Stalls
The first part of this aspiration is rather easy and can probably be completed in the first or second day. The first part is to go to 3 different neighbourhoods in the game and introduce yourself to someone in each of them.
Next, you’ll want to make a friend in the game and hangout with them until you get the option to give them an apartment key. This will allow them to come over whenever they want by using this key and they will bop over at random times.
Finally, you’ll need to order food 3 times from different food stalls around the city. You will also learn the recipes to these every time you order which is fun so you can learn how to make it at home.
Level Two: Inhabitant
- Achieve Level 3 of the Singing Skill
- Use a Bubble Blower
- Light 3 Fireworks at the Humour and Hijinks Festival
In this part of the city native aspiration you’ll need to get your singing skill to level 3. You can do this by using karaoke machines, clicking on your sim to practice singing, or singing in the shower. Getting to level 3 won’t take long so that’s an easy one to finish off.
Next, you’ll need to use a bubble blower. You can do this by purchasing one from the build/buy catalog or by using one at one of the festivals. They will appear with small poofs around them for sims to sit on. You can click on them and use the bubble blower easily.
Finally, you need to light 3 sets of fireworks at the humour and hijinks festival. You can purchase fireworks from the merchandise stall and set them off from those, or you can participate in the jokesters vs pranksters competition and you’ll win some.
Once you have 3 sets of fireworks in your inventory, you can set them off and complete this part of the aspiration.
Level Three: City Expert
- Donate to a Protester
- Kiss Someone at the Romance Festival
- Complete a Mural at the Arts Center
A funny part of The Sims 4: City Living is that there will be random protests happening in the different neighbourhoods all the time. You’ll see a group of sims holding posters and using mega phones.
If you click on one of the protestors you’ll have the option to donate 100 simoleons to the protestors.
If you have The Sims 4: City Living installed, someone will eventually invite you to the romance festival if you have even the slightest level of romance with this sim.
You can choose to go with them, or you can invite someone you like to the romance festival and you can easily finish this part just by giving them a nice kiss. It’s easier to gain romance at the romance festival, so it’ll be easy to get to this point.
To complete a mural at the arts center you need to go to the arts center and find a ground mural that is shown by a large blue rectangle on the ground. You can click on this mural and choose to work on it, and even bring another sim with you to help you work on it to make the process go a bit faster.
If there is already a mural in this spot, you can chose the remove mural option and start a brand new one.
Level Four: City Native
- Master the Singing Skill
- Win a Contest at GeekCon
- Live in an Apartment Worth 100,000
The last section of this aspiration is pretty fun, you’ll need to continue working on your singing skill by practicing your singing or singing in the shower. You’ll need to reach level 10 of this skill which is rather easy but may take a few days.
Next, you need to win a contest at GeekCon. There are a couple of options, like the programming contest or the video gaming contest. To be able to win these competitions you’ll want to have a rather high skill level in whichever you choose.
The final and most time consuming part of this is to live in an apartment that is worth 100,000 simoleons. This is a lot of money especially if you started this aspiration when you started a new family with only 20,000 simoleons.
You’ll just need to have 100,000 worth of furniture, art work, etc. However, it is important to understand that all things in The Sims 4 lose value over time so the longer this takes you the less value some of your first items will have.
You also have the option to use money cheats to skip having to earn the money on your own. We actually have a youtube channel and a video you can watch to learn how to use money cheats.
Final Thoughts
The city native aspiration isn’t the most well-rounded and long lasting, however, it is a great way to show off some of the aspects of this awesome new expansion pack and all of the things that happen in San Myshuno. Go out there and become a city native in The Sims 4: City Living. Happy Playing!
