The Sims 4: Eco Innovator Aspiration (Eco Lifestyle)

With the release of The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle we have been given two brand new aspirations to work through, first the Master Maker aspiration and then the Eco Innovator aspiration.

These aspirations follow the same kind of path as recent aspirations that are more of walk through of the pack than anything which I find annoying, but if you are kind of lost with what to do in Eco Lifestyle it can be a great option for showing you some aspects of the pack.

The focus of the eco innovator aspiration is that your sim wants to build a better, greener community and they are going to do so through neighbourhood action plans, and the civil designer career.

Stages of the Eco Innovator Aspiration

Level One: Eco Economist

  • Have 5 Community Influence Points
  • Vote on 1 Neighbourhood Action Plan

There are actually a ton of things in the game that are going to give you influence points so getting these 5 points won’t take much time. You can do friendly interactions, making friends with people around the neighbourhood, getting promoted, throwing parties, and so much more. These 5 points shouldn’t take long to get, just go and talk to your neighbours and be nice.

To vote on a neighbourhood action plan, you need to go up to the community board in your neighbourhood in Evergreen Harbour. If you live in a different world, you are able to just click on your mailbox on your lot and choose neighbourhood action plans.

You’ll see the action plans that currently have votes, and even be able to add your own. It costs 10 influence points to vote, so you’ll need to earn a bunch before you’re able to vote.

Level Two: Clean City Civilian

  • Sell Power or Water on a Utility Bill
  • Become a Civil Designer

To be able to sell power or water back to the utility company you are going to need to produce more than you use. This means you need to have wind turbines or solar panels on your lot to sell power or a dew collector on your lot to sell water. You’ll have the option to click on your mailbox and choose to see your bill information, on the right hand side of the page that pops up you’ll have an option to click to sell excess power or water.

To finish the second part of this level you are going to need to join the Civil Designer career, just joining the career should check this off. You should start working through this career as quickly as possible since you are going to need to reach level 10 of this carer before you can finish the aspiration off.

Level Three: Civil Citizen

  • Attempt to Convince a Sim to Vote on a Neighbourhood Action Plan
  • Vote on Neighbourhood Action Plans Two Separate Times
  • Reach Level 10 of the Civil Designer Career

Before you’ll be able to convince a sim to vote on a neighbourhood action plan, you are going to need to have them have a decent relationship with your sim. It’s just like most things in the sims, it won’t work if you don’t have a relationship because they are not going to trust you.

When you have a decent relationship with a sim you’ll be able to try to convince them to vote for an action plan that you’re supporting by clicking on them, this is going to cost you some influence points so be sure to keep earning them.

You are also going to need to work your way to the end of the Civil Designer career, so this may take a while for you to complete. It’s suggested to start the career the second you start this aspiration!

Bonus Trait

Whenever you finish an aspiration in The Sims 4 you are going to get a bonus trait that your sim will get and for the eco innovator aspiration you’ll become an influential individual.

This bonus trait’s description says “when influential individuals speak, everyone listens. They can get the community to cheer on a local hero, or cancel them on a whim.”

Final Thoughts

This aspiration can be really fun when you first pick up The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle, however, I don’t believe it has great replay value since it really is just a walk through. Happy Playing!

  1. Hey! I can’t get the convince-function to work. When I press on other sims it is never an option. Is it only possible if you are at a certain level Of the s.i. Carrier? Does anyone else have the same problem?

    1. I think there might be a bug. I’ve had it work other times, but it’s not working for me now. Hopefully it gets fixed.

  2. I can’t seem to sell a bill. It always says not enough to sell. I have solar panels, wind turbines and a water collector.
