Traits for the Gardener Career

Choosing the right traits for a sim’s future career is a great idea if you want to make it happen more quickly for them. The only trait that you can choose for your sim that may be helpful is the loves the outdoors trait since a gardener sim will spend so much time outside.

You also have the option to purchase the super green thumb reward trait using your satisfaction points. This trait is going to make it so your sim’s plants have “amazing vitality” and will last longer, be higher quality, and make you more money.

Lot Traits for the Gardener Career

Lot traits are a really awesome way to make things your sim does around their home go more smooth, or get them to earn skills quicker. You can learn more about lot traits here!

The first lot trait you should consider is the homey lot trait, this one will help your sim gain the gardening skill more quickly.

The second lot trait should be great soil because this lot trait makes gardening tasks go more smoothly. They will grow faster, and higher quality!

Degrees That Help This Career

If you have The Sims 4: Discover University installed, your sim can choose to go to school and get a degree. These degrees are going to help your sim to earn more money, get more vacation time, and start their career at a better level.

If you’re looking to go into the floral designer branch of this career, you should look into a degree in fine art. If you’re looking to go into the botanist branch of this career, you should look into a degree in biology.

Working Form Home

The Gardener career is one of many that give you the option to work from home instead of going to work each day, your sim will be able to stay home with their kids and make money easily without going off into a rabbit hole.

Each day before your sim is scheduled to start work, a pop up will appear asking if you want to go to work, work from home, or take paid time off.

Clicking work from home will change your career panel to having tasks that your sim must complete by the time their next shift starts. They will get money at the end of each task, and may get a bonus the next day before they start.

Usually, the work from home tasks only take a few hours compared to a full day at work, so it can be a great option if your sim has more than one interest.

Gardener Career Levels

Being in the beginning stages of the gardening career is pretty easy, but you aren’t going to make a ton of money in this career. The pay raises are minimal and it seems to take forever to make a real income, so it’s important to supplement your income by having a decent sized garden.

Your daily task for these four levels of the career is going to be to harvest harvestables anyway, so you’ll need at least a few plants to get this task done.

The only skill your sim will need to work on in this part of the career is their gardening skill, so you don’t need to focus on anything else!
