The Sims 4: Military Career
The military career was added to the game as part of The Sims 4: Strangerville and is a great career that can be done from home. Of course the military career came with strangerville since obviously the military would be interested in the weird things happening.
You’ll get to choose whether you want to be a covert operator or an officer, an important decision in any military career. In this guide we are going to discuss all the levels of the career as well as certain things you can choose to help you get through the military career easier.
Aspirations for the Military Career
I always like to start out my career guides by talking about some aspirations that go well with the specific career, the following aspirations are great if you’re working through the military career.
Body Builder
The first aspiration that may be helpful during the military career is the body builder aspiration. This one is good because the levels before you choose a branch are heavily focused on the fitness skill and working out, just like this aspiration!
Friend to the World
If you’re thinking about choosing the officer branch of the career you may want to choose the friend to the world aspiration because this branch focuses on the charisma skill. This aspiration will get you out there making friends and will increase your skill.
Nerd Brain
If you’re thinking about going down the covert operator branch of the military career you may want to choose the nerd brain aspiration since you’ll need to max out your logic skill in the aspiration and in the career, so you can earn satisfaction points while doing it!
Traits for the Astronaut Career
It’s always smart to plan your sim’s career around the traits they have and decide what would work best for them. The following traits are really great for any sim in the military career.
Active
Since the career focuses on the fitness skill at the beginning, you may want to make your sim active. This trait gives bonuses to the fitness skill as well as makes your sims have fine while working out.
Genius
If you’re planning to go down the covert operator branch, you should make your sim a genius. Genius sims are going to gain the logic skill a bit quicker as well as get focused more often which can help them gain the skill as well.
Outgoing
The outgoing trait is awesome for any sim going down the officer branch of the military career since it focuses on the charisma skill. Outgoing sims enjoy talking to other sims more often and can even increase their fun by doing so.
Lot Traits For the Astronaut Career
Lot traits are a really awesome way for your sims to gain skills more quickly while on their home lot. The following lot traits are really awesome for sims in the military career.
Science Lair
The science lair lot trait is great for sims going into the covert operator branch since they need to gain the logic skill. You can gain the logic skill quicker with this lot trait.
Bracing Breezes
The bracing breezes lot trait is really great for both branches of the career since you need to gain the fitness skill at the beginning. Bracing breezes makes it easier for your sims have an easier workout and workout for longer!
Convivial
The convivial lot trait is awesome because it makes it so your sims have more high quality conversations with other sims as well as gaining the charisma skill more quickly.
Working From Home
One of my favorite things about the military career in The Sims 4 is that you can work from home! Every morning an hour before you ‘re scheduled to go to work, a dialogue box is going to pop up in the bottom left hand corner of your screen, this is where you’ll choose to either go to work or work from home.
If you choose to work from home you’ll be given a set of assignments to complete that you’ll find in your career panel in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. You’re expected to complete these tasks by the time your next shift starts.
When you complete a certain task you’ll be paid for your work and sometimes given a bonus. If you get promoted it will happen one hour before your shift begins when the work from home option comes up.
Working from home in the sims 4 is a great option if you have children to raise or just want to actually play with your sims more since they are always working and sleeping!
Military Career Levels
“Physical fitness and discipline will be the keys to success in the Military career. Rising through the ranks will not come easy unless you can demonstrate your physical prowess as well as your ability to recruit and be a leader. Will you pursue the path of a Grand Marshal, or will you follow a more secretive path to uncover what others might be hiding?”
The military career before you choose a branch only focuses on the fitness skill, making it easy to get through unlike other careers where there are more than one skill focus.
Your daily tasks are going to be either work out, go jogging, or spar with others. The first two are pretty self explanatory but spar with others is a new addition with The Sims 4: Strangerville. All you need to do is click on another sim and choose spar. This will make your sims start fighting but in a way where no one will get hurt.

Military Career Unlocks
My least favorite part about the military career is the lack of fun unlocks. All you’re going to unlock in this career is some new clothing items, a medal display, and a bunch of medals to put inside.
Covert Operator Branch
“The Covert Ops Branch is the part of the Military that no one talks about. You will be required to undergo secret tasks, by planting bugs and listening in on the unsuspecting. You will need to interrogate any and all suspicious individuals. No one can be trusted, and everyone is up to something. Are you up for the task?”
The covert operator branch of the military career has a heavy focus on the military career and a lot of playing chess. One awesome thing about this career is that your daily task changes every time you get promoted, this is nice because sometimes career tasks can be repetitive.
A cool part of this branch is that you’ll be awarded with the listening device and be able to listen in on other sims as part of your daily task. This is a really fun part of the career.

Officer Branch
“In the Officer Branch you will continue to earn medals while you rise through the formal ranks of the Military. The Officer path will see you earning the highest rank possible and becoming a Grand Marshal. To build your leadership skills you will be tasked to order others and build to peak physical fitness. No Grand Marshal can be outdone by a Raw Recruit!”
The officer branch focuses on the charisma skill instead of logic and no longer focuses on fitness. You’ll need to give orders to others and spend a decent amount of time practicing speeches. This can be a boring skill to gain, so go out and spend time talking to other sims to make it a bit more fun instead of standing in front of the mirror.
When you reach level 10 of the career you’ll have to start recruiting sims to join the military, which is interesting to me. You should try to build up relationships with sims before you try and recruit them!

Final Thoughts
The military career in The Sims 4 was a really great addition with The Sims 4: Strangerville. The career is well rounded and doesn’t have much downside, except for the lack of fun unlocks. How do you feel about the military career? Let me know in the comments!
If you don’t feel like the military career is going to right for your sim in The Sims 4, here are a few other careers that you can choose from:
My sim is level 9 in the military career and one of his tasks is to interrogate the locals? It says I just click on a sim and run the interaction but I don’t have that option.
I had the same problem! But I found it under the “mean” section when clicking on a sim.
Where do I find spar with others?
You can find spar with others in “Friendly” options. Just keep clicking more choices until you found that option! 😀
How do i recruit other sims to military?
Hii.
Could you help me how I can give orderes? I tried with a bot but it’s not working so probably it’s not the right one. Thanks for your helping
