The Sims 4: Entertainer Career
The entertainer career in The Sims 4 is a really awesome if you sim’s wish is to become a musician or a comedian. They can share their gifts with the world and make some money doing so, it’s a really fun one to go through.
In this guide we are going to talk about all of the requirements for the entertainer career, as well as some aspirations, traits, and lot traits to make your sims have a better chance of success.
Aspirations for the Entertainer Career
I like to start off these guides with a list of aspirations that can help you get through the career while also gaining satisfaction points. There are two aspirations that go right along with the two branches of the entertainer career!
Joke Star
The first is the joke star aspiration that goes right along with the comedian branch of the entertainer career. This aspiration focuses on writing jokes and building up your comedy skill, which are things you need to do in the career anyway!
Musical Genius
If you’re focusing on the musician part of the entertainer career, you should go with the musical genius aspiration! This aspiration focuses on building up a skill in an instrument, as well as licensing songs which is a great way to make a side income.
Traits For The Entertainer Career
When choosing a career for your sims, their traits should always come into account. The following traits are great for sims who are going into the entertainer career:
Music Lover
Sims who have the music lover trait are going to have way more fun when they are playing instruments, getting their fun need up super quickly. They will also get inspired when listening to or playing music more often.
Goofball
Sims who have the goofball trait are going to be feeling more playful, more often. Playful is the best emotion for building the comedy skill and if you are telling some jokes to other sims while feeling playful, the jokes will land more often.
Outgoing
In the comedian branch of the entertainer career, you’re going to be focusing on both the comedy skill and the charisma skill. The outgoing trait is great because it makes sims want to spend more time talking to other sims and gaining the charisma skill.
Lot Traits For The Entertainer Career
There are a number of lot traits that are going to help your sim gain skills more quickly in their house. If you’re unsure about lot traits, you can learn lot traits here!
Great Acoustics
The great acoustics lot trait is going to give your sim’s a boost to any instrument skill, this includes guitar, piano, violin, etc. This will be seriously helpful in the musician branch.
Convivial
The convivial lot trait is a good one for the comedian track of the entertainer career. It gives your sim a boost to both their charisma and their comedy skill!
Entertainer Career Levels
“You’ve wanted your name in lights from the time you could spell it, maybe even before. Answer your calling and claim your fame as a professional entertainer, either making the audience laugh with you or melting their hearts with your melodies.”
The entertainer career is an interesting one, it seems like comedian and musician shouldn’t really to go together but I’ve always found this to be a fun and easy career to complete. The mixture of the comedy skill and a music skill (i.e., violin, guitar, etc) makes for a fun time!
To gain the comedy skill you can either spend your time telling sims different jokes, or go the easier way and write jokes on the computer. To gain a music skill, you just need to play the instrument!

Entertainer Career Unlocks (Before Branch)
In every career in The Sims 4, you will be able to unlock some new home decor and gameplay items that aren’t available to you if you haven’t gone through the career. The entertainer career unlocks start off with the porcu-pro business card holder, which can look kinda cool on any desk, just like if you were needing all of the numbers to call to get some new gigs!
Next, you’re going to get the Sim Idol Rug, which is a small black rug that doesn’t make much sense for home decor, but could look good under a microphone. Finally, before you choose your branch of the entertainer career you’ll unlock the rock of ages retro stereo.
Comedian Branch
“The life of a professional comedian isn’t all funny business, so practice those impressions and prepare your best topical jokes!”
When you enter into the comedian branch of the entertainer career, your focus is going to be shifting from comedy and music to comedy and charisma. You should start working on your charisma skill even before you choose this branch. You can gain charisma by practicing a speech in a mirror or talking to other sims.
Your daily task is going to be to write or perform routines which is done either on the computer or using the microphone. It doesn’t matter if the routine is short, medium, or long, it just matters how long you’re working on it.
The funniest part of this career is that you unlock the ability to perform comedy in space. This isn’t really helpful if you don’t have a rocket, but it can be a fun thing to do and can make you a bit of money! You could even go to geek con if you have The Sims 4: City Living and do it there.

Comedian Branch Unlocks
The unlocks you’ll get by progresing through the comedian branch are some fun ones. The first is the I Otter Be a Star Pop Art and is a 4 square image of otters that looks hilarious on any wall. You’ll also get the You’ve Got Talent Award, which is fun to display in your home to show off how awesome you are.
Next, you’re going to unlock a set of track lighting that isn’t my favourite item that you unlock in the entertainer career but it can be fun to add to your home. And finally, you’ll unlock the what a star you are mirror.
Musician Branch
“The gift of music simply must be shared! Tickle those keys and strum those strings as your adoring fans fall in love with every melody!”
The musician branch is one of my favourites in the game because it’s so fun to make your sims feel like a rock star! You’ll get to continue increasing either your guitar skill or your violin skill, but you’ll also now get to work on building your piano skill.
Your daily task is just to play an instrument for a few hours, this is awesome because you’ll be able to easily build the skill while getting your daily job done.

Musician Branch Unlocks
You get a couple really awesome unlocks with the musician branch of the entertainer career. The first, is a single rose in a vase that looks really cute as a centrepiece on a dining table or sitting on a bed side table. Then, you’ll unlock the off the charts music award that you can display to show just how awesome you are.
The best part? You’ll unlock the classic genius antique piano and the rock legend signed guitar! So, you’ll get some really great new instruments for your sim to play to continue working on their skills.
Final Thoughts
