Let’s face it if you aren’t using sims 4 CAS backgrounds to enhance your experience then you’re just doing it wrong. The default background in The Sims 4 is one of the most boring and dated things in the game and that ombre gives me nightmares at this point.

We can’t be expected to look at the same CAS background after this many years without getting extremely sick of it and it feels like the only answer is to find yourself some awesome custom content options.

The custom sims 4 CAS backgrounds that you’ll find in this list are going to cover all sorts of concepts including old school backgrounds from The Sims 2, fun floral backgrounds, and even random ones like Alice in Wonderland and adorable bedroom backgrounds.

There is definitely something for everyone and you will for sure be able to find a background that fits your personal style.

How to Install Sims 4 CAS Backgrounds

Installing sims 4 CAS backgrounds is actually extremely easy and works just like installing any other piece of regular custom content. What you need to do is head to any of the links listed below and download the file and once downloaded open up your downloads folder in one window and your mods folder in the other.

Your mods folder can be found by going to documents > electronic arts > sims 4 > mods and this is where you’ll put any cc and mods you want. Then you’ll drag your custom create a sim background into your mods folder and launch your game.

Be sure to only have one CAS background installed at a time so the game doesn’t get confused about which one you want and also ensure that mods are enabled in your game settings.

A Mod You May Need Before Use

There is a weird phenomenon that happens when you’re using sims 4 CAS backgrounds and that’s the blob. If you’re seeing an ugly blue blob under your sim’s feet when using a custom background you are going to need the blob remover mod to be able to counter act this and make the background look better.

If you’re looking for something a bit more simple this Large Room Sims 4 CAS Background is a great option that will really make your sim’s clothes pop. The next on the list is My Bedrooms Part 2 which is a set of different CAS backgrounds you can choose from that will all give you a very cute bedroom to use as your background.

There is just something about CAS backgrounds that have a floor to them that makes me feel safe. Sometimes when they’re just floating in the middle of a background it makes me feel weird.

Getting dressed in the bathroom seems like a pretty normal thing to do, since a lot of people would be getting ready in their bathroom after a shower so this bathroom option for a sims 4 CAS background just fits.

This Artors CAS Background honestly feels like a very elegant place to get your sim’s read. The chair from Eco Lifestyle sitting perfectly in the middle feels very elegant and all the products under the window just feels super expensive and fancy. These types of rooms make me want to make a high-power attorney with a fun custom content suit.

Outdoor Sims 4 CAS Backgrounds

Vejle Harbour Denmark

Next up is the Vejle Harbour Denmark background that brings you into an IRL location. This one has your sims standing at the end of a really gorgeous boardwalk surrounded by water with boats and nice buildings in the background and is just super aesthetically pleasing.

Some of us want plain CAS backgrounds and some of us want wild ones with things like Grafitti Walls and this is one of the best for grafitti. This background lets your sims look extremely cool while you’re creating them with your favourite custom content pieces because posing near grafitti just makes you look awesome.

December is my favourite month of the year and this gorgeous CAS background makes me wish that it was the festive season all year round. The snow detail and the detail on that tree just make me feel warm and fuzzy and I’ll be saving this one to add to my game in the colder months this year.

Grey Cat Walk

The next mod on our list is an extremely minimalistic design with a white background and a grey cat walk you really can’t get more simple than this.

This is a great option for your sims 4 CAS background because it’s going to really let the clothing shine and not have the background be more exciting than in-game or custom content clothes that you may decide to add to your mods folder.

White CAS Background

Many of the backgrounds on this list are super exciting with a ton of stuff going on but that’s not what every player wants. Some players just want a plain white CAS background and there’s no shame in that.

Using white is a great way to make your sim’s clothes pop off the screen and really let you focus on the finer details with things like skin details so you can make the most beautiful sim.

Sometimes a more simple option is the best choice and these gradient CAS backgrounds are a really great simple option to replace that silly default option that we get from EA.

Beach Please Sims 4 CAS Backgrounds

Some of my favourite CAS backgrounds are the ones that are just plain and a single colour because you can consistently throw these out of your mods folder and put a new one in without it being too big of a change.

Any simmer who absolutely loves the colour pink, will love this background for sure. This CAS background features a gorgeous baby pink colour in clouds which adds dimension and and detail to make it look so beautiful.

One thing I love about this one is that it could just be that pink colour and be absolutely beautiful but the cloud detailing adds so much without it being overwhelming and distracting when you’re creating your sim.

Sometimes a nice simple CAS background will do the job the best and these striped backgrounds are such an awesome option for any player, especially since they come in so many different colours.

These are really fun because they have a nice detail where they fold forward at the bottom making it look like your sim is at a photo shoot standing on top of a roll of fabric or paper and it adds a bit of dimension to your CAS experience.

You can really make a CAS background out of anything from the game and there are a number of hidden worlds in The Sims 4 that you can access that have a completely different vibe than the regular worlds that you are used to. The forgotten grotto is one of the most beautiful and this creator made it into a beautiful CAS background.

One thing I love about forgotten grotto is how many crystals are all over the world making it absolutely beautiful as a background option for making sims. The light coming off of those crystals really adds some cute vibes to your game.

Although we do get a gradient in the game by default, the colours are boring and the default background is overused after so many years. As I grow older I am getting more drawn into anything that features stars, moons and space because the world is a beautiful place with so many mysteries. This is such a simple and gorgeous way to bring in some of those items that I love while having a simple and effective CAS background.

This one is more of a joke, but I couldn’t avoid adding it. In 2020, one of the most popular sim’s youtube creators Lilsimie made a video creating their own CAS backgrounds and this one honestly just made me laugh when watching that video.

This gorgeous option has everyone’s favourite townies, Eliza and Bob Pancakes as well as their last name featured in the background as well. Just beautiful work that wouldn’t at all be distracting when trying to create a gorgeous sim.
