When you’re creating your sims you get to make a few choices and one of the most important is choosing sims 4 aspirations for your characters. These aspirations are things they are going to be working toward for large parts of their lives and can result in your sim’s getting bonus traits.

There are tons of categories of aspirations for you to choose from including family, location and knowledge. You really can customize your aspiration to be picked perfectly for the sim you’re creating.

If you want to be able to finish your sims 4 aspirations more quickly, it’s helpful to understand how they work and how you can complete the specific tasks that are required. Bonus Traits for Sims 4 Aspirations

The first thing that you need to understand about sims 4 aspirations are the bonus traits that come right along with them. These bonus traits are given to your sims when you give them these aspirations in create-a-sim or when your sims age up to a teenager.

These bonus traits are going to stick with your sims and are based on what category of aspiration your sim has. They are actually extremely helpful in completing these aspirations because they are designed to make everything easier depending on the category.

There are fourteen different bonus traits that your sims can get depending on the category of sims 4 aspirations they decide on:

Animal	Animal Affection: Relationships with animals begin at higher values.
Athletic	High Metabolism: It is easier to stay fit and trim when you have High Metabolism.
Creativity	Muser: Musers get better boosts to their skills when they are inspired.
Deviance	Dastardly: Dastardly sims perform stronger and more successful mean interactions.
Family	Domestic: Domestic sims will see their familial relationships grow stronger faster.
Food	Essence of Flavour: Sims with essence of flavour make higher quality food and drink.
Fortune	Business Savvy: Business Savvy sims earn more money from their careers.
Knowledge	Quick Learner: Quick Learners build all skills a little bit faster.
Location	Home Turf: These Sims become happy when they are in their home neighbourhood.
Love	Alluring: Alluring Sims are more successful at romance than others.
Nature	Collector: Collectors can find rare collectibles more often.
Popularity	Gregarious: Gregarious Sims build friendly relationships faster.
Star Wars	Prepared Voyager: Sims who are Prepared Voyagers fill up their needs slightly when travelling.
Wellness	Spa Membership: These sims somehow came into possession of Spa Membership. Nobody is really sure where it came from, how to cancel it, or who keeps paying for it each month. But one thing is for certain all fees at Spas are waived! Nice!

How to Cheat Sims 4 Aspirations

The only way to cheat an aspiration in The Sims 4 is to cheat to complete the current milestone. This will bring you from say stage 1 of an aspiration to stage 2, so you’ll need to use the cheat more than once.

To use this cheat you want to open the cheat box with ctrl + shift +c and then type in testingcheats true to make sure that your cheats are on and then type in aspirations.complete_current_milestone and hit enter.

Types of Sims 4 Aspirations

Animal Sims 4 Aspirations

There is one animal aspiration in The Sims 4 that came with The Sims 4: Cats and Dogs. If you choose this aspiration for your sim it will give them the animal affection reward trait which has a description that says “relationships with animals begin at higher values.”

Friend of the Animals (Cats and Dogs)

“This sim wants to be friends with the animals.”

This aspiration came with The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs and has four levels for your sims to work through. The first level is called Acquaintance of the Animals and your sim will need to complete three items:

• Have a pet in your household
• Be friends with 1 animal
• Be friendly with animals 12 times

The next level of this aspiration is called friend of the animals and your sims will need to complete 3 things:

• Be friends with 5 animals
• Be companions with 1 animal
• Successfully train out 2 misbehaviors

The next part of this aspiration is called best friend of the animals and your sim is going to need to finish 3 more items:

• Be companions with 2 animals
• Feel the love 5 times
• Successfully train out 4 misbehaviors

The final part of this aspiration is BFF of the animals and you’ll need to complete 3 items:

• Play with 2 different ghost pets
• Feel the love with 8 different pets
• Be friends with 12 animals at the same time

Athletic Sims 4 Aspirations

There is one athletic aspiration for you to choose for your sim that comes with The Sims 4 base game. When you choose this aspiration for your sim they are going to be given the high metabolism reward trait which has a description that states “it is easier to stay fit and trim when you have a high metabolism.”

Body Builder

“This sim wants to work out and become as strong as they can be!”

The body builder aspiration came with the base game for The Sims 4 and has 4 levels to get through. Your sim will need to max out the fitness skill and get to their peak fitness level. This first level is called basic trainer and your sim will need to complete the following:

• Work Out for 8 Total Hours
• Work Out at a Gym Venue

After finishing the first level your sim is going to need to work through exercise demon where they will need to finish the following 3 tasks:

• Achieve Level 4 Fitness Skill
• Push the Limits for 1 Hour While Energized
• Own 2 Pieces of Workout Equipment

The next level of this aspiration has 3 levels and is called Fit to a T and your sim will need to complete the following:

• Achieve Level 6 Fitness Skill
• Go Jogging for 2 Total Hourrs
• Spend 10 Hours Exercising

Finally, your sim is going to need to work through the bodybuilder stage of the aspiration and complete these tasks:

• Achieve Level 10 Fitness Skill
• Reach Sim’s Maximum Body Potential

Extreme Sports Enthusiast

“This Sim wants to explore Mt. Komorebi’s wilderness and participate in extreme snow sports.”

The extreme sports enthusiast aspiration comes with The Sims 4: Snowy Escape and focuses on spending time on the mountain going snowboarding, skiing and rock climbing. The first stage of the aspiration is called snow student and has three tasks to complete:

• Go Down the Bunny Slope
• Use a Vending Machine or Computer to Purchase a Remedy or Deterrent
• Use a Mt Komorebi Info Board

The second part of the aspiration is called thrill seeker and has four sections to complete:

• Achieve Level 3 Rock Climbing Skill
• Complete a Hiking Trail
• Actively Ski, Snowboard, or Rock Climb for 3 Hours
• Encounter a Kodama or Forest Spirit

Stage three of the extreme sports enthusiast aspiration is called trailblazer and will have your sim on top of the beautiful mountain and finishing these items:

• Perform High Intensity Skiing or Snowboarding on an Intermediate or Expert Slope
• Successfully Reach the Peak of Mt Komorebi
• Endure an Injury Sustained from Skiing, Snowboarding, or Rock Climbing

To complete this aspiration your final section will be called peak pioneer and has these tasks:

• Survive 3 Wildlife Attacks Unscathed
• Achieve Level 8 Skiing, Snowboarding, or Rock Climbing Skill
• Successfully Complete High Intensity Skiing or Snowboarding on an Expert Slope or Rock Climbing During Inclement Weather

Creativity Sims 4 Aspirations

There are currently six creative aspirations for your sims to choose for their life that cover things like painting, music, knitting and more. There are 3 with the base game that are some of my favorite aspirations to choose from. A sim who chooses a creativity aspiration is going to be given the muser bonus trait that says “musers get better boosts to their skills when they’re inspired”

Painter Extraordinaire

“This sim wants their life to be all about art and painting.”

The painter extraordinaire aspiration is a good choice for creative or perfectionist sims and came with the base game for The sims 4. In this aspiration there are four levels, the first of which is called Ill at the Easel and has your sim doing two tasks:

• Start 3 Paintings While Inspired
• Paint for 5 Hours

The next level is fine artist where your sim will need to complete the following 3 tasks before moving on:

• Achieve Level 4 Painting Skill
• Sell 3 Paintings to Collectors or Art Gallery
• Complete 3 Emotional Paintings

The third level of this aspiration is called brushing with greatness and has your sim needing to finish the following tasks before moving on:

• View or Admire 3 Paintings at a Museum
• Complete 10 Excellent Paintings
• Achieve Level 6 Painting Skill

Finally, your sim will work through the painter extraordinaire level of this aspiration and complete the following:

• Achieve Level 10 Painting Skill
• Complete 5 Masterpieces

Bestselling Author

“This sim wants to write books and become a famous author.”

A sim who chooses the best selling author aspiration will have to work through 4 levels of the aspiration and will start with the fledge-linguist level where they will need to complete the following:

• Write 3 Books
• Write for 1 Hour While Inspired

Next, they are going to work through the competent wordsmith level of the aspiration where you’ll need to finish 3 tasks:

• Achieve Level 4 Writing Skill
• Have Written for 15 Total Hours
• Write 5 Good Books

The next level of the aspiration is called novelest novelist and has 3 important tasks for your sim to finish:

• Achieve Level 6 Writing Skill
• Publish 10 Books
• Write 5 Excellent Books

Finally, your sim will need to finish the bestselling author level of the aspiration where they will need to complete the following:

• Achieve Level 10 Writing Skill
• Complete 3 Bestsellers
• Have Earned §25,000 in Royalties Publishing Books

Musical Genius

“This sim wants to become an expert musician and songwriter.”

Musical genius is a base game aspiration where your sim will play the guitar, violin, and piano and will have to work through 4 levels of the aspiration. The first one is the tone-deaf level where you’ll need to complete the following:

• Practice Music for 6 Hours
• Listen to Music for 2 Hours

Next, your sim will get to finish two tasks in the fine tuned level of the aspiration:

• Achieve Level 4 Skill in an Instrument
• Play an Instrument for 1 Hour While Inspired

After fine tuned your sims are going to need to work through the harmonious level of the aspiration where they’ll need to complete three objectives:

• Achieve Level 6 Skill in an Instrument
• Write 4 Songs
• Earn §500 from Licensed Songs

Finally, your sim will need to work on the musical genius part of the aspiration where they will need to complete the following:

• Achieve Level 10 Skill in an Instrument
• Have Spent 75 Hours Playing Musical Instruments
• Mentor Others in Music for 3 Hours

Master Actor or Actress (Get Famous)

“This sim wants to hone their craft and become an acclaimed actor.”

The master actor or master actress aspiration came with The Sims 4: Get Famous and will have your sims working through the actor career. The first level of this aspiration is called aspiring actor/actress and has your sim completing two tasks:

• Achieve Level 3 Acting Skill
• Practice Acting for 2 Hours

Next, your sim is going to need to go into the intermediate actor level of the aspiration where they will need to complete the following tasks:

• Become an Adult
• Join the Acting Career
• Earn Gold in a Commercial Acting Gig
• Give a Street Performance

Then your sim will need to go through the advanced actor level of this aspiration and complete 3 tasks:

• Achieve Level 7 Acting Skill
• Receive an Award
• Earn Gold in a TV Show Acting Gig

Finally, your sim will need to work through the master actor level of the aspiration and complete the following:

• Achieve Level 10 Acting Skill
• Place a Celebrity Tile in Starlight Boulevard
• Earn Gold in a Movie Acting Gig

Lord/Lady of the Knits (Nifty Knitting)

“This sim has yarn running through their veins and will stop at nothing on their quest to craft the perfect knittable.”

The lord or lady of the knits aspiration came with our second community voted stuff pack, The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting. In this aspiration you’ll have four levels to work through, the first being the humble knitter level where your sim needs to do the following:

• Knit for 5 Hours
• Start 3 Knitting Projects while Inspired
• Knit on a Rocking Chair

Next, your sim will work through the 3 objectives in the thread setter category of this aspiration:

• Achieve Level 4 Knitting Skill
• Knit While Listening to Music
• Sell a Knitted Object on Plopsy

Then you are going to be in the dream weaver level of the aspiration where your sim will need to complete the following tasks:

• Complete 10 Excellent Knittables
• Successfully Gift 3 Knittables
• Achieve Level 6 Knitting Skill
• Successfully Show Off Your Knitted Sweater to Another Sim

Finally, your sim will need to complete the four tasks in the lord or lady of the knits level of the aspiration:

• Donate 5 Knitted Items to Charity
• Achieve Level 10 Knitting Skill
• Complete 5 Legendary Knittables
• Teach Another Sim to Knit

Master Maker (Eco Lifestyle)

“This sim wants to become an expert at fabrication.”

The master maker aspiration came with The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle and will have your sim candle making and using the fabricator. The first level of this aspiration is called jerry rigger and will have your sim working through the following tasks:

• Achieve Level 3 Skill in Fabrication
• Recycle 5 Times

Next your sim will go through the better builder and will need need to complete 3 tasks before moving on:

• Achieve Level 5 Skill in Fabrication
• Fabricate 5 Times
• Have 5 Dyes

The next level is called competent crafter and your sim will need to complete the following tasks:

• Achieve Level 7 Skill in Fabrication
• Collect Insects from an Insect Farm 3 Times
• Craft 5 Candles

Finally, your sim will work through master maker and your sim will finish the following:

• Achieve Level 10 Skill in Fabrication
• Make 20 Candles
• Complete 5 Gigs as a Freelance Crafter

Deviance Aspirations

If you want your sim to be a little less than nice, you can choose one of two deviance aspirations that come with the base game. When you choose one of these your sims are going to be given the dastardly reward trait that has a description of “dastardly sims perform stronger and more successful mean interactions.”

Public Enemy

“This sim wants to make enemies and be a famous criminal!”

The public enemy aspiration is a base game aspiration for The Sims 4 and will have your sim wanting to be a criminal. There are 4 levels of this aspiration to work through and the first of which is mostly harmless where you’ll need to finish these tasks:

• Perform 10 Mean or Mischievous Interactions
• Be Disliked by 2 Sims

The next part of the aspiration is called neighborhood nuisance and has your sim needing to complete three tasks:

• Be Disliked by 4 Sims
• Become an Adult
• Join the Criminal Career

Then your sim is going to need to work through is called criminal mind and your sim will need to complete these items:

• Have a Declared Enemy
• Reach Level 4 of the Criminal Career
• Get into 5 Fights

Finally, your sim is going to work through the last level of the aspiration, public enemy, where they will need to finish these tasks:

• Witness the Death of a Sim
• Reach Level 8 of the Criminal Career
• Have 3 Declared Enemies

Chief of Mischief

“This sim is all about pranks and mayhem!”

The chief of mischief aspiration came with The Sims 4 base game and will have your sim working on the mischief skill in the game. It has 4 levels, the first of which is mostly harmless where your sim will need to complete the following:

• Perform 10 Mean or Mischievous Interactions
• Be Disliked by 2 Sims

Next, your sim will need to work through the artful trickster part of the aspiration and they will need to complete the following:

• Use a Computer to Cause Mischief 3 Times
• Achieve Level 3 Mischief Skill

Then a sim will need to work on the professional prankster section and complete the following tasks:

• Pull 10 Pranks
• Achieve Level 6 Mischief Skill

Finally, your sim will complete the chief of mischief section of the aspiration where they will need to do the following:

• Clog Drains at 3 Different Homes
• Perform Voodoo 5 Times
• Achieve Level 10 Mischief Skill

Family Aspirations

If you want your sim to have a family and focus on that for their life, you may want to choose one of the family aspirations. There are two with the base game that are solid choices, and a sim with one of these aspirations will get the domestic reward trait which says “domestic sims will see their familial relationships grow stronger faster.”

Big Happy Family

“This sim wants to build a large, loving household.”

The big happy family aspiration comes with The Sims 4 base game and the first level of this aspiration is called readily a parent and will have your sims doing the following:

• Become an Adult
• Spend §1000 on Kid’s Stuff

After readily a parent your sim will need to work through level two of the aspiration which is called caregiver and they will need to do the following:

• Read to a Child for 2 Hours
• Become a Parent
• Socialize with Your Child 10 Times

The next level of this aspiration is called loving guardian and your sims will need to complete 3 tasks:

• Be a Parent to a Child with 3 Friends
• Be Friends with 3 of Your Children
• Have a Child Get Married

The final level of this aspiration is called big happy family and will have your sim doing the following things:

• Socialize with Your Child or Grandchild 10 Times
• Have 4 Grandchildren
• Become Good Friends with 4 Children or Grandchildren

Successful Lineage

“This sim wants to have a family that succeeds in life.”

The successful lineage aspiration focuses less on having a large family and more on having one that is successful in their lives. It has 4 levels and the first of which is called readily a parent where your sim needs to do two things:

• Become an Adult
• Spend §1,000 on Kid’s Stuff

Next, your sim will work through the caregiver level where they will need to spend some time with their kid and complete these tasks:

• Read to a Child for Two Hours
• Become a Parent
• Socialize with Your Child 10 Times

The third stage of this aspiration is called trusted mentor where your sim will need to finish the 3 following items:

• Help a Child with Homework 3 Times
• Have a Child Earn an “A” in High School
• Have a Child Max Any Skill

The final stage of this aspiration is called successful lineage and your sim will need to complete these things:

• Mentor Your Child 3 Times
• Have a Child Complete an Aspiration
• Have a Child or Grandchild Reach the Top of a Career

Vampire Family (Vampires)

“This sim wants to create a family of vampires.”

The vampire family aspiration came with The Sims 4: Vampires and will have your sim wanting to be a good vampire and grow their family of vampires. In the first section of the aspiration, the basics, your sim will need to finish the following task:

• Become a Vampire

After you’ve become a vampire your sim will need to go through the I Have the Power part of the aspiration where they will need to finish these items:

• Purchase the Vampire Creation Power
• Become a Minor Vampire

The next section of the aspiration is called I Am Not Alone and your sim is going to need to finish the following tasks:

• Train 3 Offspring
• Convert 5 Sims into Full Grown Vampires
• Become a Prime Vampire

In the final section of the aspiration your sim is going to be working through A New Family and will need to complete two tasks:

• Be Good Friends With 3 Offspring
• Become a Master Vampire

Super Parent (Parenthood)

“This sim wants to be the best parent ever!“

The super parent aspiration came into the game with The Sims 4: Parenthood and heavily incorporates the character values system that came with that pack. The first section of the aspiration is called Readily a Parent and has your sim completing two tasks:

• Become an Adult
• Spend §1,000 on Kid’s Stuff

The second level of this aspiration is called offspring instructor and your sim is going to need to finish these tasks:

• Become a Parent
• Achieve Level 4 of the Parenting Skill
• Discipline Your Child, Toddler, or Teen 5 Times

In the third part of the super parent aspiration, a sim will need to become a character coach and will need to complete three tasks:

• Help a Child with School Work for 4 Hours
• Achieve Level 6 of the Parenting Skill
• Have a Child with a Character Value Within Range to Receive a Trait

The final section of this aspiration is called super parent and your sim is going to need to complete these tasks:

• Achieve Level 10 Parenting Skill
• Go Into Full Parent Mode
• Have a Child with 3 Positive Character Value Traits

Food Aspirations

There are two food aspirations that come with The Sims 4 base game that focus on their cooking or mixology, these go great with the culinary career branches. A sim with these aspirations will have the essence of flavor reward trait which states “sims with the essence of flavor make higher quality food and drink.”

Master Chef

“This sim wants to master the culinary arts!”

The first section of the master chef aspiration is called aluminum chef where your sim will first learn to really cook and complete these tasks:

• Cook 5 Excellent Meals
• Cook 2 Meals While Inspired

After completing the first level your sim will need to work through captain cook where they will need to finish these things:

• Cook a Gourmet Meal
• Earn Silver at a Dinner Party Event
• Achieve Cooking Skill Level 5

The third level of the aspiration is called culinary artist and your sim is first going to need to be an adult, and complete these tasks:

• Become an Adult
• Create 3 Types of Excellent Food
• Reach Level 4 of the Culinary Career

The last level of the master chef aspiration is called master chef and your sim will need to work through these items:

• Cook 3 Gourmet Dishes at a Single Event
• Reach Level 8 of the Culinary Career
• Achieve Gourmet Cooking Level 5

Master Mixologist

“This sim wants to know everything there is to know about mixology!”

Master mixologist is a base game aspiration that focuses on the mixology skill. A sim who is in the master mixologist aspiration will first start in the bar tenderfoot level of the aspiration and will need to finish these two items:

• Mix 20 Drinks
• Own a Bar and 2 Barstools

The second level of this aspiration is called electric mixer and your sim is going to need to finish these 3 tasks:

• Achieve Level 5 Mixology Skill
• Mix 10 Drinks at a Single Social Event
• Mix 3 Different Excellent Drinks

The next section of this aspiration is called beverage boss and your sim is going to need to do three things:

• Become an Adult
• Join The Mixology Branch of the Culinary Career
• Achieve Level 7 in the Mixology Skill

In the final section your sim will be working through the master mixologist section and will need to complete the following tasks:

• Achieve Level 10 Mixology Skill
• Mix 10 Excellent Drinks While Inspired
• Create 10 Types of Excellent Drinks

Fortune Aspirations

There are two aspirations in the fortune category that both came with The Sims 4 base game. When a sim has these aspirations they are going to get the business savvy bonus trait which says “business savvy sims earn more than the standard rate from careers.”

Fabulously Wealthy

“This sim wants to get rich and have a successful career!”

Fabulously wealthy is a base game fortune aspiration where your sim is justt looking to have earned a bunch of money, and have a ton of money in the bank. I’ve found it is best to have your sims live modestly and just keep the money in the bank. The first stage of this aspiration, going for not broke, has your sim needing to complete these two tasks:

• Have Earned 5,000 Simoleons
• Have 10,000 Simoleons in Reserve

The second stage of the aspiration also has two tasks for your sims to complete and is called learning earning:

• Have 20,000 Simoleons in Reserve
• Have Earned 25,000 Simoleons

The next step of the aspiration is called well off and makes your sims need to complete two tasks where they’ll need quite a bit of money:

• Have 35,000 Simoleons in Reserve
• Have Earned 75,000 Simoleons

The final stage of this aspiration is called fabulously wealthy and your sim is going to need to finish two things to complete the aspiration:

• Have 50,000 Simoleons in Reserve
• Have Earned 200,000 Simoleons

Mansion Baron

“This sim is all about owning the biggest, fanciest home.”

Mansion baron is a base game aspiration that is all about having enough money to have a large and beautiful home. Your sim will need to purchase art, landscaping, windows, and columns and have a very expensive home. The first step of this aspiration is called estate of the art and your sim will need to have this completed:

• Have a Home Worth 50,000 Simoleons
• Own 15 Pieces of Art

The next step of the aspiration will have your sim working through the great landscaper and they will need to plant some trees and complete the following:

• Have a Home Worth 100,000 Simoleons
• Purchase 5,000 Simoleons Worth of Landscaping

After landscaping your sim is going to need to work through the home renovator part of the aspiration and will have your sim finishing these things:

• Have a Home Worth 200,000 Simoleons
• Own 30 Windows

Finally, the final step of the aspiration mansion baron will have your sim needing to have a very expensive home filled with tons of columns and complete these two things:

• Have a Home Worth 350,000 Simoleons
• Purchase 20 Columns

Knowledge Aspirations

There are currently 7 knowledge aspirations in The Sims 4 and when a sim has one of these aspirations they are going to be given the quick learner reward trait, this trait says “quick learners build all skills a little bit faster.”

Computer Whiz

“This sim wants to know everything about computers, from playing games to careers!”

Computer whiz is a base game aspiration that focuses on the tech guru career as well as the programming skill and video gaming. The first stage of this aspiration is called with the program where your sim will need to finish two items.

• Practice Programming for 5 Total Hours
• Play Video Games for 5 Total Hours

The second part of the aspiration is called technically adept where your sim will need to purchase a ton of electronics, and finish these tasks:

• Maintain Focus for 2 Straight Hours of Video Gaming
• Achieve Level 3 Programming Skill
• Own §3,000 Worth of Electronics

Next, your sim is going to need to work through the computer geek potion of the aspiration. In this level your sims are going to need to work through three items:

• Become an Adult
• Reach Level 3 of the Tech Guru Career
• Make a Video Game or an App

The final stage of the aspiration is called computer whiz and your sim is going to need to spend a ton of time on the computer and complete these tasks:

• Reach Level 5 of the Tech Guru Career
• Have Spent 100 Hours on the Computer

Renaissance Sim

“This sim wants to be good at many things at once!”

The renaissance sim aspiration comes with the base game and focuses your sim on getting a ton of skills and getting to level three in many careers. The first level of this aspiration is called prudent student and has your sim doing two tasks:

• Finish Reading 3 Books
• Achieve Logic Level 3

The next step of the aspiration is called jack of some trades where your sim will need to start working on their first career and finish these tasks:

• Become an Adult
• Achieve Level 4 in 4 Skills
• Reach Level 3 in 1 Career

The third level of the renaissance sim aspiration is called pantologist and will have your sim finishing these two tasks:

• Achieve Level 5 in 5 Skills
• Reach Level 3 in 2 Careers

Finally, your sims are going to have to finish two tasks in the last section called renaissance sim:

• Achieve Level 8 in 6 Skills
• Reach Level 3 in 3 Careers

Nerd Brain

“This sim wants to be both book smart and handy!”

The nerd brain aspiration came with the base game of The Sims 4 and this aspiration has four levels to work through. Your sim is going to need to work on rocket science, and logic a ton during this aspiration. The first level is called prudent student and your sim will need to do the following:

Master Vampire (Vampires)

“This sim wants to become a wise and powerful vampire!”

The master vampire aspiration came with The Sims 4: Vampires and will have your sim working toward being the best and most knowledgable vampire in all the land. The first stage of the aspiration is called the basics and will have your sim starting to learn information about vampirism and becoming a vampire:

• Search a Computer for Information about Vampires
• Become a Vampire
• Read Encyclopedia Vampirica Vol I

The second level of the aspiration is called discover dark birthrights and your sim will need to start vampire training and get more vampire knowledge:

• Become a Minor Vampire
• Participate in Vampire Training
• Reach Level 4 Vampire Lore Skill

Stage 3 of this aspiration is called strength and wisdom and your sim will need to continue growing their vampire knowledge:

• Reach Level 7 Vampire Lore Skill
• Defeat 3 Vampires in Combat
• Become a Prime Vampire

The final stage of the aspiration is focused on finishing learning about being a vampire and just surviving more time as one:

• Become a Grand Master Vampire
• Read the Ultimate Vampire Tome

Archaeology Scholar (Jungle Adventure)

“This sim wants to understand archeology.”

The archaeology scholar aspiration came with The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure. This aspiration has your sims spending time exploring the interesting world of archaeology and looking for different artifacts inside of dig piles and excavation sites. The first part of this aspiration is called trowel technician and has two tasks for your sim to complete:

• Excavate 3 Dig Piles or Excavation Sites
• Uncover Artifact from Dirt Clump

The second part of this aspiration has your sim starting to learn the archaeology skill and has 3 things you need to finish:

• Achieve Level 4 Archaeology
• Survey for a Dig Pile
• Authenticate 3 Artifacts

The 3rd level of the aspiration is called excavation expert and has three different items to finish off:

• Achieve Level 7 of the Archaeology Skill
• Establish 3 Excavation Sites
• Authenticate 5 Excellent Quality Artifacts

To finish off this aspiration your sim can work through the archaeology scholar stage of the aspiration that involves 3 parts to complete:

• Achieve Level 10 of the Archaeology Skill
• Write a Good Quality Archaeology Skill Book
• Give a Successful Archaeology Lecture

Spellcraft & Sorcery (Realm of Magic)

“This sim craves a deep knowledge of the arcane magical arts.”

The spellcraft & sorcery aspiration came with The Sims 4: Realm of Magic and is one of two aspirations from that pack. This one focuses on learning and performing different spells and dueling others spellcasters to gain rank. The first stage of the aspiration is called first steps:

• Become a Spellcaster
• Travel to the Magic Realm
• Learn a Spell

Part two of this aspiration is called learning the ways and your sim has to finish 3 things:

• Reach Spellcaster Rank 2 (Acolyte)
• Know 3 Different Spells
• Cast a Spell on Another Sim

The third stage of the spellcraft and sorcery aspiration is called devilish dueler and has three items to finish:

• Reach Spellcaster Rank 3 (Adept)
• Win 3 Duels Against Other Spellcasters
• Know 5 Different Spells

To finish off this aspiration your sim needs to finish the final part, Wand-erful Spellcaster where they will need to finish off two items:

• Reach Spellcaster Rank 5 (Virtuoso)
• Know 10 Different Spells

Academic (Discover University)

“The sim wantss to attend university and got a job, but most importantly — learn!”

The academic aspiration came with The Sims 4: Discover University and focuses on having your sim attend lecutres, go to tutoring and so much more. It’s a must-have aspiration if you plan to send your sims to university. The first stage is called freshman and includes the following:

• Achieve Level 3 Research & Debate
• Enroll in a University

The second stage of the aspiration is called bright eyed student and has you finishing 3 items, and getting an A in a class:

• Achieve Level 5 Research & Debate
• Attend Guest Lectures (0/3)
• Finish a Course with an A

The third part of this aspiration is called avid academic and has 3 things for your sim to finish:

• Have a Term GPA of B or Higher
• Tutor Students (0/5)
• Achieve Level 6 Research & Debate

Once a sim gets to the end of this aspiration they are going to have to finish their degree and get their first job:

• Earn a Degree
• Contribute Knowledge on Research Archive Machine
• Achieve Level 7 Research & Debate
• Get a Job Using Degree

Location Aspirations

There are 5 location aspirations that have been added with various packs since launch. When you choose this aspiration type you will be given the home turf bonus trait that says “these sims become happy when they are in their home neighborhood”

Beach Life (Island Living)

“This sim wants to take it slow and enjoy beach life.”

The beach life aspiration came with The Sims 4: Island Living and will focus on having a pretty relaxed life in the beautiful world of Sulani. The first stage of the aspiration is called tourist and has 3 tasks:

• Get a Suntan
• Earn Gold on a Kava Party
• Eat a Coconut

The second stage of the aspiration is called sand sifter and your sim has two tasks to complete:

• Find Things Beachcombing
• Grill, Barbecue or Roast Food

The third stage of the beach life aspiration is called leisurely local and has two items:

• Explore the Beach Cave
• Discover Buried Treasure

The last stage has one item to complete the aspiration:

• Doze Off while Relaxing in a Lounge Chair or Float Lounger

Strangerville Mystery (Strangerville)

“Strangerville is holding some deep dark secret, and this sim wants to uncover why all the townsfolk are acting a bit strange.”

The Strangerville mystery aspiration is nothing like the rest, and actually follows a storyline to save the world from a weird illness taking over the town. The first stage is new resident and will have your sim doing the following:

• Talk About Strangerville with 5 Sims
• Buy Curio from the Curio Shop
• Examine the Sealed Door at the Secret Lab

The second stage of this aspiration is called personal spy where your sim will need to complete the following:

• Gather 15 Pieces of Evidence
• Compile a Strangerville Secret Dossier
• Open the Sealed Door at the Secret Lab

Stage three of the aspiration is called pathogenic investigator and has your sim needing to finish these tasks:

• Collect 15 Spore Clusters
• Assemble the Hazmat Suit
• Traverse to the Deepest Part of the Secret Lab

The final stage of the aspiration is called strangerville hero and has three final tasks:

• Vaccinate 3 Sims
• Recruit 3 Sims to Help Stop the Source
• Defeat the Source of the Infection

City Native (City Living)

“This sim is all about the city life.”

The city native aspiration came with The Sims 4: City Living and will have your sims living in San Myshuno! The first stage of the aspiration is called tourist and has three tasks. foraa sim to do:

• Introduce Yourself to Someone New in 3 Different Neighbourhoods
• Give an Apartment Key to a Friend
• Order 3 Times from Food Stalls

The second part of this is called inhabitant and has three items to finish:

• Achieve Level 3 of the Singing Skill
• Use a Bubble Blower
• Light 3 Fireworks at the Humour and Hijinks Festival

Part three of the city native aspiration is called city expert and has these items:

• Donate to a Protester
• Kiss Someone at the Romance Festival
• Complete a Mural at the Arts Center

The final stage of this aspiration in The Sims 4 is called city native and has your sim finishing these items:

• Master the Singing Skill
• Win a Contest at GeekCon
• Live in an Apartment Worth 100,000

Mt Komorebi Sight Seer

“This Sim wants to explore Mt. Komorebi’s culture and experience everything it has to offer.”

The Mt Komorebi Sightseer aspiration came with The Sims 4: Snowy Escape and focuses on the world that came with that pack. You’ll be eating, swimming, and more. The first stage is called explorer and has these tasks:

• Eat Food at the Festival of Light, Snow, or Youth
• Take a Selfie with the Mt Komorebi Mascot
• Collect a Simmi by Popping Open a Simmi Capsule
• Swim for 1 Hour in Wakaba’s River

The second part of this is called backpacker where your sim will need to do these tasks:

• Soak for a Long Time in a Hot Spring
• Wear a Festival Costume from a Vending Machine
• Go Sledding 3 Times
• Eat Food Using Chopsticks

The final section of this aspiration is called globetrotter and has three items to complete:

• Socialize at Onsen Bathhouse
• Make a Wish on or Collect a Forest Spirit
• Take it Slow and Become Emotionally Mindful

Fabulously Filthy (Bust The Dust Kit)

“This Sim revels in filthy, messy homes and avoids cleaning at all costs. Procrastinate, dodge chores, lower your standards, and find creative ways to thrive in the filthiest environments!”

The fabulously filthy aspiration is a weird one, but is definitely fun, and it came with the Bust the Dust kit that was released in March of 2021. This aspiration has a reward trait called filth dweller and will have your sims living in an absolutely filthy home and avoiding doing chores at all costs. The first level is called procrastinator and has 4 items to complete:

• Leave Out Food to Spoil
• Let 3 Kitchen or Bathroom Objects Get Dirty
• Let At Least One Floor Level of Your Home Get Dirty
• Max Out Sim’s Fun Motive While on a Dusty, Dirty, or Filthy Floor

Once you complete those tasks you are going to move on to chore dodger where your sim is going to need to finish these items before moving on:

• Successfully Ask 3 Sims to Clean
• Befriend a Dust Bunny
• Cook 3 Meals in a Dirty or Filthy Kitchen
• Pay for a Cleaning Service

The third level of the fabulously filthy aspiration has 4 steps and is pretty gross, why would you want to eat spoiled food? You’ll need to finish these items:

• Eat 3 Meals That Are Spoiled
• Bathe or Shower 3 Times in a Dirty Shower or Tub
• Don’t Wash Your Hands After Using the Toilet
• Invite a Guest Over While House is Dirty or Filthy

Finally, the end of the aspiration has 4 items to finish and when complete you’ll be awarded with the filth dweller reward trait:

• Knock Over 3 Trash Cans
• Throw a Party Social Event in a Filthy House
• Appease a Filth Fiend with a Filth Tribute
• Woohoo in a Filthy House

Perfectly Pristine (Bust The Dust Kit)

Love Aspirations

There are two love aspirations that came with the base game and are a great choice if you want a long life with someone or a bunch of different partners. If you choose this aspiration category you are going to get the alluring trait that says “alluring sims are more successful at romance than others.”

Serial Romantic

“This sim wants to play the field and go on dates with all sorts of interesting people.”

The serial romantic aspiration is perfect for sims who don’t want to settle down or are non-commital. The first stage of this aspiration is called amore amateur and has two tasks:

• Have a Boyfriend or Girlfriend
• Go on 2 Dates

Stage two has two tasks and will have you needing more than one romantic interest:

• Achieve Charisma Level 4
• Have Had 3 First Kisses

The third part of this aspiration is called romance juggler and has three items to complete:

• Achieve Charisma Level 6
• Kiss 10 Sims
• Have a Strong Romantic Relationship with 3 Sims at Once

The fourth and final stage of the serial romantic aspiration has two tasks to finish:

• Earn Gold on 3 Dates
• Have Had 8 Boyfriends or Girlfriends

Soulmate

“This sim wants to find and live a rewarding life with The One“

The soulmate aspiration focuses less on dating tons of people and more on dating one and being happy forever. The first stage of this aspiration is called amore amateur and has two tasks that are the same as the serial romantic aspiration:

• Have a Boyfriend or Girlfriend
• Go on 2 Dates

The next sage is called marriage material and has two tasks to finish:

• Become an Adult
• Be Married to BFF

Stage three of this aspiration is called love handler and will have your sim becoming soulmates with their love:

• Earn Silver on 2 Dates with Spouse
• Achieve Soulmate Relationship with Spouse

The fourth stage of this aspiration is called soulmate and has your sim finishing it off:

• Perform 50 Romantic Gestures with Spouse as Soulmates
• Earn Gold on 3 Dates with Spouse

Nature Aspirations

There are currently seven nature aspirations that you can choose from that will have your sims working a lot outside. A sim with one of these aspirations will get the collector reward trait that says “collectors can find rare collectibles more often!”

Angling Ace

“This sim wants to know everything about fishing.”

The angling ace aspiration is a great one if you want your sims to spend a ton of time alone in the great outdoors. It has a first stage called fish out of water that has two tasks:

• Catch 5 Fish
• Fish at 3 Different Locations

The second part of this aspiration is called hooked and your sim has three items to finish:

• Fish for 10 Total Hours
• Mount or Bowl 5 Fish
• Achieve Level 4 of the Fishing Skill

Part three of the angling ace aspiration is called reel smart and your sim has three tasks to complete:

• Catch 5 Fish Using Bait
• Achieve Level 6 of the Fishing Skill
• Make 6 Great Catches

The final part of the aspiration is called angling ace and to complete the aspiration your sim has two items:

• Collect 20 Types of Fish
• Achieve Level 10 of the Fishing Skill

The Curator

“This sim wants to collect everything the world has to offer.”

The curator aspiration focuses heavily on finding all the collectibles in The Sims 4 and came with the base game. The first stage of the aspiration is called out and about and only has one task to complete:

• Collect 10 Collectibles

The second part of the aspiration has a few more items, with three things for you to complete:

• Collect 5 Crystals
• Collect 3 Frogs
• Collect 3 Fossils

The third stage of the curator aspiration is called treasure hunter has three items for your sim to complete:

• Send 5 Items to the Geological Council
• Breed 5 Frogs
• Collect 5 Elements

The final part of this aspiration is called the curator and has two items to complete before your sim finishes the entire aspiration:

• Complete a Collection
• Collect 25 Collectibles

Freelance Botanist

“This sim wants to grow plants and become an expert gardener.”

The freelance botanist aspiration is a great one that focuses on your sim becoming the best gardener they possibly can be. The first stage of the aspiration is called naturewalker and has two tasks to finish:

• Plant 3 Seeds
• Weed or Water Plants 10 Times

The second level of the aspiration is called garden variety and will have your sim completing these two items:

• Achieve Level 4 Gardening Skill
• Evolve 5 Different Plants

Level three of the freelance botanist aspiration is called nature nurturer and has these items to complete:

• Achieve Level 6 Gardening Skill
• Graft onto 2 Plants
• Fertilize 5 Plants

To finish off this aspiration your sim will need to complete these items:

• Achieve Level 10 Gardening Skill
• Grow a Cowplant
• Evolve 10 Excellent Quality Plants

Outdoor Enthusiast (Outdoor Retreat)

“Outdoor enthusiasts want to experience everything nature has to offer.”

The outdoor enthusiast aspiration came with The Sims 4’s first piece of DLC, outdoor retreat! This aspiration is great for a sim who wants to go camping and spend time in granite falls. The first part, greenhorn, has two items to complete:

• Harvest 10 Unidentified Plants
• Catch 5 Fish in Granite Falls

The second stage of this aspiration is called forest scout and there are 3 tasks to complete:

• Achieve Level 4 of Herbalism
• Cook 2 Plates of Beetles over a Campfire
• Eat 10 Plants

The third part of the outdoor enthusiast aspiration is called wilderness explorer and has three sections to complete:

• Craft 3 Excellent Herbal Remedies
• Identify All Unidentified Plants
• Befriend the Hermit of Granite Falls

The final stage is called outdoor enthusiast and will have three tasks for your sims to finish:

• Achieve Level 10 of Herbalism
• Sleep for 5 Nights in a Tent
• Collect 15 Insects

Jungle Explorer (Jungle Adventure)

“This sim wants to explore the jungle”

The jungle explorer aspiration came with The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure and focuses on your sim spending tons of time in Selvadorada and meeting folks and learning about the world, you’ll need to complete these 3 tasks:

• Buy 3 Goods at Marketplace Stalls in Front of the Cantina
• Eat a Selvadoradian Meal
• View Statue of Madre Cosecha

The second part of the aspiration is called expedition rookie and your sim has 3 tasks to complete:

• Achieve Level 3 of Selvadoradian Culture
• Find an Area off the Path
• Examine 3 Traps

Part three of the jungle explorer aspiration will have your sim working through these 3 items:

• Defend Against 2 Natural Dangers
• Achieve Level 5 of Selvadoradian Culture
• Assemble a Mystical Relic

The final stage of the aspiration is called jungle explorer and will have your sim looking for treasure and using relics:

• Open 3 Rare Treasure Chests
• Activate a Mystical Relic 5 Times
• Find 5 Omiscan Treasures

Purveyor of Potions (Realm of Magic)

“This sim wants to learn every potion’s recipe and craft each one.”

The purveyor of potions aspiration came with The Sims 4: Realm of Magic and focuses less on learning spells in the game, and more on crafting potions to drink. The first stage of the aspiration is called first steps and involves these tasks:

• Become a Spellcaster
• Travel to the Magic Realm
• Learn a Potion Recipe

Stage two of the aspiration is called bubbling up and requires your sim to finish 3 items:

• Reach Spellcaster Rank 2 (Acolyte)
• Own a Cauldron
• Know 3 Different Potion Recipes

The third part of the purveyor of potions aspiration has 3 items to complete before you can move on:

• Reach Spellcaster Rank 3 (Adept)
• Know 5 Different Potion Recipes
• Brew 5 Potions

The final stage of the aspiration is called potion pro and has two items to complete:

• Reach Spellcaster Rank 5 (Virtuoso)
• Know 10 Different Potion Recipes

Eco Innovator (Eco Lifestyle)

“This sim wants to build a better, greener community.”

This aspiration came with The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle and involves your sim creating new objects and innovating to make the neighbourhood more green. The first stage of the aspiration is called eco economist and has 2 tasks:

• Have 5 Community Influence Points
• Vote on 1 Neighbourhood Action Plan

Part two of this aspiration has your sim needing to join the civil designer career in the game and selling power or water:

• Sell Power or Water on a Utility Bill
• Become a Civil Designer

The final part of the eco innovator aspiration is called civil citizen and has your sim needing to finish these tasks:

• Attempt to Convince a Sim to Vote on a Neighbourhood Action Plan
• Vote on Neighbourhood Action Plans Two Separate Times
• Reach Level 10 of the Civil Designer Career

Popularity Aspirations

Popularity aspirations are going to have your sims wanting to have friends, throw parties, or maybe even be a good vampire. There are 3 from the base game and a few from other expansion and game packs that add a ton to the game. When your sim chooses a popularity aspiration they are going to get the gregarious reward trait which has a description of “gregarious sims build friendly relationships faster.”

Joke Star

“This sim wants to tell jokes and become a famous comedian”

The joke star aspiration came with The Sims 4 base game and focuses on the comedy skill and works great with the entertainer career. The first level of the aspiration is called practical joker and your sim has to complete two tasks:

• Be Funny to 5 Sims
• Achieve Level 3 Comedy Skill

Part two of the aspiration is called stand-up start-up and is when your sim will join the entertainer career and actually start becoming funny by completing these tasks:

• Become an Adult
• Join the Entertainer Career
• Own a Microphone

Next, your sim will work through the funny businessman part of the aspiration. In this section your sim needs to finish two tasks:

• Achieve Level 6 Comedy Skill
• Join the Comedian Branch of the Entertainer Career

The final part of the aspiration is called joke star where your sim will max out their comedy skill and complete these two items to finish the aspiration:

• Perform 3 Comedy Routines
• Achieve Level 10 Comedy Skill

Friend of the World

“This sim wants to make and keep as many friends as they can.”

The friend of the world aspiration is a base game aspiration for The Sims 4 that focuses your sim on gaining friends. This aspiration starts with the new in town level where your sim needs to complete two tasks:

• Introduce Self to 10 Sims
• Have 3 Friends

The second level of the aspiration is called well liked and has two tasks for your sims to complete:

• Meet Someone New in 3 Different Locations
• Reach Level 4 of the Charisma Skill

Next your sims will be working through the super friend section of the aspiration where they are going to need to complete these two items:

• Have 12 Friends
• Reach Level 6 of the Charisma Skill

Finally, your sim will be working on the final part of the aspiration, friend of the world where they will need a bunch of friends and tons of charisma:

• Have 20 Friends
• Achieve Level 10 Charisma Skill
• Make a BFF

Party Animal

“This sim wants to throw and attend amazing parties.”

The party animal aspiration came with the base game and focuses on throwing large social events for all of your friends. The first level of the aspiration is called new in town and makes your sim do these two tasks:

• Introduce Self to 10 Sims
• Have 3 Friends

The second part of the aspiration is called welcoming host and has two tasks to be completed before moving on:

• Throw 3 Parties
• Earn Silver on 3 Social Events

The third part of the aspiration is named sir gala had and your sim is going to need to complete two items before they can move on:

• Earn Silver on 3 Thrown Parties
• Attend a Social Event at 5 Different Locations

Finally, your sim is going to need to finish this final part of the aspiration, called party animal, where they will need to do these three things:

• Throw 10 Social Events
• Attend 15 Social Events
• Earn Gold for Two Parties

World Famous Celebrity (Get Famous)

“This sim wants to be illustriously famous.”

The world famous celebrity aspiration came with The Sims 4: Get Famous. This aspiration focuses on the fame system and will have your sim wanting to get famous by any means necessary. The first part of this aspiration is called aspiring star where your sim will need to finish two items.

• Become a 2 Star Celebrity
• Purchase a Fame Perk

The second part of the aspiration is called somebody and in this level your sim is going to need to complete three items:

• Become a 3 Star Celebrity
• Host a Meet and Greet
• Visit a Celebrity Hot Spot

The next step of the aspiration is called rising star where your sim will need to finish three things:

• Be Asked 3 Times for a Selfie
• Become a 4 Star Celebrity
• Deal with the Paparazzi 3 Times

Finally, your sim will need to work through the world famous celebrity level of the aspiration where they will need to complete three items:

• Become a 5 Star Celebrity
• Sign 3 Autographs
• Receive 25 Positive Responses from Inciting Cheers

Good Vampire (Vampires)

“This sim wants to control their thirst and remain as human as possible.”

The good vampire aspiration came with The Sims 4: Vampires and is the nicest of the vampire aspirations. In this aspiration you’ll start with the first level called, the transformation, where your sim will need to do 3 things:

• Use a Computer to Search for Information about Vampires
• Become a Vampire
• Reach Level 3 in Vampire Lore

The second stage is called cope with temptation and your sim is going to need to complete four important tasks:

• Drink a Plasma Pack
• Make 5 Friends
• Don’t Drink Deeply for 5 Days in a Row
• Reach Level 4 in Vampire Lore

The third stage of the aspiration is called circle of trust and this is where your sim will learn a bunch about being a vampire and must finish these four tasks:

• Make 2 Good Friends
• Get Permission to Drink from 2 Sims
• Buy the Tamed Thirst Vampire Power
• Create 3 Plasma Packs from Fish or Frogs

Finally, your sims will work through the reject the beast part of the aspiration where they are going to need to do three things:

• Make a BFF
• Harvest from a Plasma Fruit Tree 3 Times in a Row
• Don’t Drink Without Permission for 14 Days in a Row

Leader of the Pack (Get Together)

“This sim wants to be the leader of the best club in town”

The leader of the pack aspiration came with The Sims 4: Get Together and focuses on the club system that came with that pack. The first stage of this aspiration is called get accepted and has two items to be completed:

• Start or Join a Club
• Buy a Club Perk

Next, your sim will be working on the private gathering part of the aspiration. This means your sim will need to complete these two tasks:

• Perform 10 Club Activities
• Be in a Club Gathering for 12 Hours

The third part of the aspiration is called spread the word and your sim will need to start gaining the charisma skill and get these two tasks finished:

• Achieve Level 5 of the Charisma Skill
• Talk about Clubs with 5 of your Club Members

Finally, your sim will have to work through the final section named leader of the pack where your sim will need to be the leader of the coolest club in town by completing these two items:

• Earn 1,000 Club Points
• Lead a Club That Has 8 Sims

Star Wars Aspirations

There are two aspirations that came with The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu and while I don’t agree with The Sims team creating and releasing this pack, I will add these to the list reluctantly. However, I am not writing guides for Journey to Batuu since I just don’t care for it, so there are no links in this section.

If your sim chooses one of these aspirations they are going to be given the prepared voyager reward trait which has a description of “sims who are prepared voyager’s fill up their needs slightly when travelling.”

Hope VS Order

“One the world of Batuu there is a growing conflict. This sim is out to explore black spire outpost and understand where they should stand with the resistance or the first order.”

Galactic Privateer
